What is Bank Statements?
Bank statements are the monthly records from your business bank account showing deposits, withdrawals and balances. They are among the most commonly requested documents in business lending, especially by alternative lenders who rely on them to evaluate cash flow. Lenders look at total deposits, average daily balance, overdrafts and negative-balance days, and existing loan payments. Lenders generally want complete statements with all pages, obtained directly from your bank.
Example
A lender requests the four most recent months of business bank statements to verify revenue and cash flow.
